Gasera

Ipinanganak ako sa nung panahong ang elektrisidad ay isang luho na wala pa sa aming lugar. Natatandaan ko pa, lagi kaming mayroong gasera.Pagsapit nang hapon, kailangan nalagyan na ng gas ang mga ilawan, habang maliwanag pa. Wala kaming aladin noon (Coleman ang brand ng sa mga lolo ko). Kalimitan e mga may-kaya lang ang meron nun. At karaniwang ginagamit kapag may pagtitipon o kasayahan. Ha ha! Naalala ko pa noon, kapag may kasalan, ganun ang ilaw.

Pero ang hindi ko makakalimutan na gamit ng gasera ay yung panahong kami ng tatay ko ay inaabot nang madaling-araw sa paglalaro ng ahedres. Kahit laging ako ang tagataya ng mga pyesa, ayos lang. Oras yun na nagugugol kasama ang tatay ko. Sa umaga nga laang, e di ang itim ng kulangot. Ha ha! Ang mga panahong yun, masarap alalahanin.

Although it's been many years since God called you home, and your warm presence is no more, your guidance, advice, and love have stuck with me all the time. I would not be who I am today without you.
